The whole process of myopic surgery

Myopia surgery can be either keratoconus or intracorneal lens implantation. Here we give an example of the whole process of excimer laser surgery, including eye irrigation, anesthesia, corneal flap making, laser cutting, resetting the flap, and sometimes implanting materials.

1. The eye is rinsed with sterile saline and chloramphenicol 10 minutes before surgery.

2. Routinely lay out the towel, set up the position, and use ocular surface anesthetic drops to anesthetize the eye.

3. The corneal flap was lifted first with micro forceps to expose the corneal stroma.

4. According to the input laser treatment data, the cornea is cut with the laser, which usually takes 1 minute, and then the flap debris is rinsed away; in the case of intraocular refractive surgery, special IOLs are implanted in the anterior or posterior chamber of the eye, and scleral refractive surgery requires the implantation of reinforcement materials.

5. Reset the previously lifted corneal flap.

The long-term complications and efficacy of myopic surgery for the eye are still unknown and are still being studied.
