How to exercise for torn knee ligaments

Knee ligament rupture usually requires surgery, and post-surgery exercise recovery, that is, exercise muscle strength and joint range of motion under the protection of adjustable braces, avoiding full weight bearing as much as possible. Exercises can be started in a range of motion from 30° of flexion to 5° of extension, gradually increasing the range of motion to less than 90° or even 0°, and then gradually increasing the flexion angle of the joint after the fracture has healed. Patients with cruciate knee ligament rupture are reviewed once a month on an outpatient basis and are instructed to perform functional exercises to avoid excessive exercise causing cruciate knee ligament injury, and violent exercise without fracture healing has adverse consequences for knee function recovery. Patients should be guided by their physicians to perform functional exercises in a timely and correct manner, which is a long-term process and requires patience. Patients who have not fully recovered clinically should not be anxious and should communicate with the patient so that they understand that knee exercises are a chronic process.
