What to do if the fiber ring is torn

In clinical practice, an annulus fibrosus tear is mainly a tear in the annulus fibrosus of the lumbar disc. The nucleus pulposus will protrude when the lumbar disc is torn, and the protrusion will compress the dural sac and stimulate the cauda equina nerve to produce a series of clinical symptoms. The specific treatment should be based on the patient’s clinical manifestations and physical examination, and then consider the appropriate treatment. If the patient feels low back pain, local pressure pain is obvious, percussion pain is negative, sensation of both lower limbs is normal, and activity is normal. If this is the case, the treatment can be conservative, given a hard bed lying flat, local topical ointment to activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and can also be combined with physical therapy such as physiotherapy instrument baking electricity or microwave instrument treatment. If the patient has tingling pain in both lower extremities, decreased skin sensation, decreased muscle strength, significantly decreased muscle strength in both bunions, and even abnormal diaphoresis. If this is the case, surgical treatment should be considered, and lumbar disc removal can be done.
