The herb witch hazel is not found in the Pharmacopoeia and may refer to the Chinese herb Plum Blossom. Plum Blossom is the flower buds of the green calyx plum of the Rosaceae family, which is bitter, slightly sweet, slightly acidic and cool in nature, and has the effects of dispersing the liver and relieving depression, opening the appetite and generating fluids, and resolving phlegm. It can be used in the treatment of liver and stomach qi pain, chest tightness and heartburn, summer heat and thirst, loss of appetite, plum nucleus qi (similar to pharyngeal allodynia), vomiting in pregnancy, scrofula (mainly refers to cervical lymph node nodules) tuberculosis and other conditions. The adverse reactions of this product are not clear at present.
