The steps of subcutaneous cyst excision are, in order, sterilization, anesthesia, cyst removal, suture dressing, and postoperative care.
Subcutaneous cysts are a common benign tumor. Subcutaneous cyst excision is also a relatively minor procedure, usually requiring only outpatient surgery and no hospitalization for observation after surgical treatment.
First, before performing subcutaneous cystectomy, the skin at the surgical site should be fully sterilized. After disinfection, a local infiltration anesthesia with lidocaine is administered. After successful anesthesia, the surgeon will use a scalpel to incise the skin and remove the cyst by blunt dissection. After checking that there is no bleeding in the operated area, the wound is sutured and bandaged.
Regular dressing changes and removal of stitches are required for the wound after the surgery.
Subcutaneous cyst excision is relatively safe and patients need not worry too much.
