How to sleep properly when pregnant

After pregnancy, women should adopt appropriate sleeping positions according to different periods. Generally speaking, in the early stage of pregnancy, as the fetus is still relatively small, the belly is not obvious or not yet bulging, it is possible to sleep on the back or side, but should be careful to avoid sleeping in the prone position as much as possible. In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, you should generally sleep on your left side. Sleeping on the left side increases the blood supply to the uterus and the fetus, and also relieves the discomfort caused by the uterus pressing on the surrounding organs. If you sleep on your back or on your right side, the uterus will press on the inferior vena cava, resulting in a decrease in blood return to the lower body, causing a lack of blood supply, and also leading to lower extremity edema.
