Age of growing pains

Growing pains are mostly seen in children between the ages of 3 and 12 years old, usually in children who are overly active and who are growing too fast. Because of the rapid growth, the long bones develop more quickly and are not in harmony with the surrounding muscles or fascia, which can cause growing pains. Most of the pain occurs at night, when children are more focused and the pain is more pronounced than during the day, mostly on the front side of the knee and the calf muscles. Growing pain is a physiological pain and most of them do not require treatment. The pain can be relieved by applying local heat and massage to the painful area, and also by asking the child to minimize activities.
