Vaginal polyps

Vaginal polyps are asymptomatic in most patients, some patients may have increased discharge and contact bleeding during intercourse. Usually, vaginal polyps are caused by the following reasons: 1. local surgical treatment of vagina or after hysterectomy, vaginal wall tissues in the repair process due to inflammatory stimulation, local tissue hyperplasia of vagina occurs and polyps are formed; 2. long-term chronic inflammatory stimulation of vaginal mucosa makes tissue hyperplasia and polyps are formed. Vaginal polyps should be surgically removed and sent for pathological examination in 3-7 days after menstrual cleansing to make a clear diagnosis and decide whether to treat further according to the pathological results. After surgery, pay attention to personal hygiene, change underwear regularly, avoid sexual intercourse for 1 month and avoid bathing. Try not to consume spicy and stimulating foods such as chili, pickled foods, avoid strong tea and tobacco and alcohol. Vaginal polyps are recurrent, it is recommended to have a gynecological examination every 6 months and recurrence can be given for re-excision.
