Foot edema in late pregnancy needs to identify the cause of edema, if it is physiological edema, do not need special treatment, pathological edema such as cardiogenic and nephrogenic edema, need symptomatic treatment.
1. Physiological edema of the feet: most pregnant women will have physiological edema of the lower limbs and ankles in late pregnancy, which is caused by the increasing uterus compressing the inferior vena cava, resulting in increased pressure on the cardiovascular blood flow in the inferior vena cava. Pregnant women can reduce walking, elevate the lower limbs and rest properly to reduce the swelling.
2. Pathological edema: for example, cardiogenic edema, nephrogenic edema, hepatic edema and so on. It needs to be diagnosed according to whether the pregnant woman has symptoms such as foamy urine, high blood pressure, tightness of chest and relevant laboratory tests. After clarifying the cause of the disease, appropriate methods of reducing edema should be selected on the basis of treating the original disease.
