How to regain wrist flexion after a broken hand

Rehabilitation is needed to restore wrist flexion after a hand fracture, mainly including functional exercises and physical therapy. If the patient has not recovered after a long period of rehabilitation, surgery is needed to restore wrist flexion.
After hand fracture, due to the fixed wrist braking, the ligament and joint capsule around the wrist joint may have adhesion and contracture, resulting in the reduction of wrist flexion and limitation of activities, which need rehabilitation training or surgery.
1. Functional exercise: If the fracture heals well, patients can perform passive flexion and extension activities of the wrist joint under the guidance of the doctor, so as to properly pull the adhesive ligaments and joint capsules, and promote the functional recovery, and they can also perform some daily work, such as lifting and holding objects, and wringing out towels and so on.
2. Physical therapy: patients can have hot compresses, acupuncture and other physical therapy, which is conducive to local blood circulation and promote the recovery of the fracture.
3. Surgery: Patients who have not recovered after half a year of continuous rehabilitation training can undergo joint release surgery to directly remove the adhesions around the joint, thus restoring the wrist flexion.
It should be noted that if there is any discomfort during the recovery process, it is recommended that the patient consult a doctor in time to prevent the condition from worsening.
