What’s wrong with menstrual cramps?

Diarrhea during menstruation may be caused by changes in prostaglandins during menstruation, improper diet or intestinal infections, etc., which need to be analyzed specifically.
1. Affected by changes in prostaglandins during menstruation: the endometrium releases prostaglandins during menstruation to stimulate uterine blood vessels and smooth muscle contraction to promote the discharge of menstrual blood, and at the same time, it will promote intestinal smooth muscle contraction, which leads to diarrhea.
2. Improper diet: due to hormonal changes in the body during menstruation, the intestinal tract is more sensitive to stimuli, such as consuming unclean food, diarrhea is more likely to occur.
3. Intestinal infection: due to infectious enteritis, the intestinal mucosa is stimulated, causing intestinal mucosal congestion, excessive secretion of water, electrolytes or inhibition of absorption, resulting in retention in the intestinal lumen causing diarrhea. Diarrhea caused by infectious enteritis is not necessarily related to menstruation, but may occur during menstruation.
If severe diarrhea persists unrelieved during menstruation, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time to clarify the specific cause and treat it under the guidance of the doctor.
