What to do if your baby has prickly heat

Prickly heat in babies is mostly caused by the hot and humid environment and poor breathability of clothes. It can be improved by changing the environment, replacing breathable clothes and medication. 1. Changing the environment: If the baby is in an environment with high room temperature, the baby’s sweat will increase. If the baby’s sweat cannot be cleaned up in time, the sweat will be retained on the surface of the skin and block the sweat ducts, thus forming prickly heat. Parents need to change the room temperature to maintain a dry and suitable environment. Wipe your baby’s sweat promptly after sweating. 2. Replacement of breathable clothing: Babies wearing poorly breathable or tight-fitting clothing can easily lead to sweat not being able to drain out of the body in a timely manner, and the local skin stratum corneum is impregnated by sweat, leading to irritation of the skin tissues and the formation of prickly heat. Parents can give the baby to change the breathable and looser clothing, such as cotton fabric clothing, so that sweat normal discharge, to reduce the occurrence of prickly heat. 3. Medication: When your baby has prickly heat, you can use glycerite lotion to apply on the prickly heat to relieve the itchy and swollen skin under doctor’s supervision. In general, keep your baby’s skin clean and dry, and it will recover on its own after a few days. If the symptoms of prickly heat do not improve after a few days, you should go to the hospital in time and use medication under the guidance of the doctor.
