Can cupping be done on the cervical spine?

For patients with cervical spondylosis, cupping treatment is possible. Because cupping produces negative pressure on the local skin, causing local blood stasis, thus playing the role of blood circulation, paralysis and pain relief, and can relieve the pain symptoms caused by spasm of the neck, shoulder and back muscles. Therefore, when the patient has cervical spondylosis with obvious soreness and pain in the neck, shoulder and back, cupping can be applied to promote the local blood circulation and the subsidence of inflammatory edema. It can also relieve the spasm of neck muscles, fascia and ligaments, so as to alleviate the pain of the patient’s neck and reduce the excessive stress on the vertebrae in the neck. Avoid the aggravation of disc herniation caused by excessive stress on the neck, thus relieving the clinical symptoms of cervical spondylosis.
