What to do if you have a bad throat infection

Severe inflammation of the throat, clinically common diseases include acute purulent tonsillitis, peri-tonsillar abscess, acute epiglottitis, parapharyngeal space abscess and other related types of diseases. In general, for the above-mentioned cases: first, it is recommended that the patient go to the ENT clinic for a detailed examination to see which disease the patient is suffering from, and to draw routine blood for C-reactive protein, and to do bacterial culture of throat secretions and drug sensitivity tests. Secondly, clinically, according to the laboratory results, choose sensitive antibiotics for intravenous infusion treatment, generally cephalosporin and penicillin may be more effective, but only if the patient does not have allergy to the above drugs. Thirdly, hormones can be applied for combined symptomatic treatment. Clinically, the side effects related to hormones and the indications for choosing hormones need to be delivered. Fourthly, if the patient forms a local abscess, clinically it is necessary to make an abscess incision and drainage, for example, a peri-tonsillar abscess requires a tonsillar abscess incision, and a parapharyngeal space abscess may clinically require a lateral cervical incision to release the abscess, which is not very effective without releasing the abscess and only treating it with drugs.
