Can Chaihu Shu Liver Pills be taken together with Zuojin Pills?

There is no contraindication between Chaihu Shu Liver Pill and Zuojin Pill, and they can be taken together as prescribed by the doctor for the treatment of symptoms such as chest and hypochondrium (collectively referred to as the chest and ribcage area) constipation, food stagnation (indigestion of food and stagnation of food in the stomach), vomiting of acidic water, bitterness in the mouth, and noisy stomach and epigastric cavity (a sensation in the stomach that is similar to hunger, emptiness, and burning). Chaihu Shu Liver Pill is composed of Scutellaria baicalensis, Rhubarb in wine, Cardamom, Fragrance of Vinegar and Fenghuang. It has the effects of dredging the liver and regulating the stagnation of liver qi (regulating the stagnation of liver qi), eliminating flatulence and relieving pain. It is mainly used for treating chest and hypochondriac constipation, food accumulation, and vomiting of sour water caused by liver qi non-compliance. Avoid cold and greasy foods that are difficult to digest; keep your mood optimistic during the period of taking the medicine and do not be angry or irritated. Zuo Jin Wan is composed of Rhizoma Coptidis and Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum, which has the effects of dredging the liver, diarrhea, harmonizing the stomach and relieving pain. It is mainly used for treating pain in the epigastric region, vomiting and sour water, bitter taste in the mouth, noisy stomach and epigastric region, and dislike of hot drinks caused by liver fire (the fire produced by the liver invades into the stomach). Caution should be exercised in cases of stomach pain due to deficiency of spleen and stomach, and dystocia (pain in the area of ribs and coats of arms) due to deficiency of liver and yin; and maintain good mood.
