The duration of minimally invasive surgery for thymoma, is about 2 hours. It usually requires double-lumen endotracheal intubation anesthesia, which takes about 40 minutes, and the duration of the surgery, which takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. The procedure of minimally invasive thoracoscopic thymoma surgery: the thoracic cavity of the side to which the thymoma is deviated is usually chosen to enter the chest, usually the 4th intercostal space in the anterior axillary line is taken to enter the chest, and the incision is about 3cm. The tumor in the anterior superior mediastinum and all adipose tissues, including those behind the sternum and in front of the pericardium, are resected. The pleura on both sides has to be penetrated in order to completely remove the fatty tissue and prevent exacerbation or recurrence of myasthenia gravis after surgery due to unclean removal of the thymoma.
