What’s going on with submandibular epithelial cancer?

Epithelial carcinoma of submandibular gland usually refers to myoepithelial carcinoma of submandibular gland, which is a kind of malignant tumor occurring in the myoepithelium of submandibular gland. The cause of myoepithelial carcinoma of submandibular gland is not clear at present; when this disease occurs, obvious lumps will appear in submandibular region in early stage, which usually grow slowly; if the disease develops to middle or late stage, it will cause pain and other discomforts in submandibular region, and when the tumor invades lingual nerve, it will cause numbness of tongue, and in some patients, it will affect tongue movement. When the tumor invades the internal pterygoid muscle, it will cause patients to have limited mouth opening. With the development of the disease, the tumor will invade the facial nerve, which will lead to crooked mouth, and when the disease develops to the later stage, it will cause ulceration of the skin and mucous membrane, which will lead to pus secretion. When patients are diagnosed with submandibular gland myoepithelial cancer, they must be treated in time.
