There are different types of spondylitis, including septic spondylitis and autoimmune spondylitis, of which septic spondylitis may be cured. Because septic spondylitis is mainly caused by bacterial infection, anti-inflammatory and other symptomatic treatments, including nutritional therapy, can be administered, and some patients can be cured. For more severe cases of septic spondylitis, surgery can also be performed to heal the patient, so most cases of septic spondylitis can be cured. However, autoimmune spondylitis, such as ankylosing spondylitis, is not completely cured. Because its cause is not yet known, it can only be treated for the symptoms it causes. By relieving the symptoms as much as possible, the quality of life of the patient is improved, but there is no way to completely cure it.
