What’s going on with the dense shadows in the lungs?

Dense shadows in the lungs are commonly caused by inflammation of the lungs, small nodules in the lungs, foreign bodies in the airways, and sequelae of pulmonary tuberculosis.
1. Lung inflammation: this condition is usually related to the infection of the lungs by bacteria, viruses, fungi and other pathogenic microorganisms, and the lung tissue cells are damaged, resulting in inflammatory exudation, which can be found in a large solid shadow under the observation of X-ray film.
2. Lung nodule: this condition refers to a well-defined round or irregular lesion with a diameter of less than or equal to 3cm in the lungs, which is usually associated with lung infections, tumors, inflammation and other factors, and is manifested as a high-density shadow on imaging.
3. Tracheal foreign body: this condition mostly occurs in young children around one year old, the external solid material enters into the bronchial tubes, fine bronchial tubes and other main airways, which may cause coughing, wheezing, asphyxia and hypoxia, etc. The high-density shadow of the location of the main airways can be found through CT of the lungs, X-rays and other imaging examinations.
4. Sequelae of tuberculosis: this condition is common in people with a history of tuberculosis, when their tuberculosis is cured, the local lesions in the lungs will form calcification after absorption, and the imaging examination will show a high density shadow.
If the above situation exists, serious cases are recommended to consult a doctor to clarify the diagnosis and carry out targeted treatment.
