Patients with hyperthyroidism with nodules may be cured of hyperthyroidism by taking medication, but it usually does not shrink or disappear the nodules, so it is recommended to consult a doctor. The incidence of thyroid nodules is high in clinical practice, and hyperthyroidism with nodules is relatively common. If the nodules are small and benign, anti-thyroid medications such as methimazole and propylthiouracil can be taken to treat the hyperthyroidism, and thyroid ultrasound can be repeated regularly to monitor changes in the size and shape of the nodules. If the nodule is large and produces symptoms of compression of the trachea and esophagus, such as dyspnea and dysphagia, or if the nodule is malignant, the thyroid nodule should be surgically removed after the hyperthyroidism is under control. Patients with hyperthyroidism with nodules should go to the hospital and be treated under a doctor’s supervision.
