How to turn a paraplegic bedridden patient

For patients with second cervical spine muscle injury, turning needs to be performed by two people, one for the head and one for the neck, pelvis and chest; for second lumbar spine fracture injury, one person can help the patient turn over by holding the patient’s head with one hand and the other hand holding the patient’s waist and back for turning him/her. After turning, the patient needs to be cushioned with a pillow on the appropriate part of the body and a sandbag on the ankle to prevent the foot from drooping. Usually, the patient is turned every four hours during the day. The main purpose of turning the patient is to prevent pressure sores and pulmonary infections, as well as venous thrombosis of both lower extremities, which should be done more often.
