The efficacy of Radix Bupleurum Chinense is to resolve dampness and move qi, warm the middle Jiao to stop diarrhea, and tranquilize the fetus, with the effect of treating stagnation of qi in the spleen and stomach, dampness obstruction in the middle Jiao (dampness obstructing the function of the spleen and stomach), spleen and stomach deficiency and cold (spleen and stomach weakness and coldness), and fetal movement and uneasiness. The recommended dosage of Pharmacopoeia is 3-6g. Sand nut is the dried mature fruit of Yangchun sand, green shell sand or Hainan sand of the ginger family. It is pungent and warm in nature, and belongs to the spleen, stomach and kidney meridians. It has the efficacy of resolving dampness, warming the middle and stopping diarrhea, regulating qi and stabilizing the fetus, and can be used for such conditions as dampness and turbidity obstruction, epigastric plumpness and lack of hunger, coldness of the spleen and stomach, vomiting and diarrhea, malignant obstruction of pregnancy, and restlessness of the fetus.
