Auricular redness and swelling is the name of the symptom. The symptom of redness, heat, swelling and pain in the auricle, or even ulceration and pus, is often caused by damp heat from the liver, gallbladder and Sanjiao, and is mostly seen in purulent inflammation of the auricle. It includes ear swelling, ear sore, ear rot, ear canker, ear gangrene and other conditions. Ear swelling is the name of the disease. See “Danxi Xinfa”. It refers to painful swelling of the ear. Mostly caused by wind-heat attacking the liver and gallbladder. It may be accompanied by pain or pus. The treatment is to remove wind, clear heat and dampness, which can be done by adding and subtracting gentian and liver diarrhea soup. Ear sore is the name of the disease. The treatise on the origin of diseases, Volume 29: “The foot Shaoyin is the meridian of the kidney, and its qi passes through the ear. When the meridian is deficient, wind-heat rides on it and enters the ear with the pulse and fights with the blood, thus producing sores in the ear”. It may be caused by damp-heat from the liver, gallbladder, or Sanjiao that rushes upward. The symptoms are sores in the left or right ear, or in both ears, with redness, swelling and pain, or broken and flowing pus, and body fever. Also, in Taiping Shenghui Fang, Volume 89: “Sores are born in both ears, with occasional differences and pus, so that they are born from wind and dampness fighting with blood.” The treatment is to remove the fire and detoxify the toxin, subdue the swelling and relieve the pain. Add or subtract gentian diarrhea liver soup and Wu Wei disinfectant drink. Ear rot is the name of the disease. See “The Complete Book of Sores and Ulcers”, Volume 1. Mostly caused by damp-heat stagnation in the liver and gallbladder, which attacks the ear. The symptoms are sores on the ear, red and rotten, which are difficult to converge. The treatment is to clear heat and remove dampness, eliminate swelling and detoxify. To clear heat and remove dampness, take gentian and liver diarrhea soup internally. Externally, use powdered powder or sesame oil to apply the antidote. It can also be applied with Huanglian and Kulan, each with equal parts of powder. The treatment is to detoxify and clear heat. The formula uses Huanglian Detoxification Soup, Wuwei Disinfection Drink, Huanglian Wenbei Tang and other additions and reductions. Ear canker is the name of the disease. It refers to abscesses in the ear, mostly caused by inflammation of the liver and stomach. Canker sores are born in the ear and are called canker sores at the ear gate or at the root of the ear. It is red, swollen and painful. In the book of “The Standard Rules for the Treatment of Evidence – Ulcer Doctor”, “If the pain is red and swollen inside and outside between cold and heat, and increases day by day, it is called ear pain.” The treatment is to detoxify the fire, reduce swelling and relieve pain. Add or subtract from the treatment with Xianfang Livelihood Drink and Wu Wei Disinfection Drink. Gangrene of the ear is the name of the disease. It refers to gangrene arising in the ear. The standard rule of evidence and treatment – ulcer doctor: “Or ask what is gangrene in the ear? Said, is the name of the ear gangrene, belongs to the hand Shaoyang Sanjiao, wind-heat caused by six or seven days gradually swollen like a walnut, or like a beehive of the shape, or red or purple, hot as fire, pain through the heart is also.” The treatment is to remove the fire and detoxify the toxin, subdue the swelling and relieve the pain. Use Wu Wei Disinfection Drink and Xian Fang Living Life Drink to add and reduce.
