Current epidemiologic and clinical medical data show that symptomatic pneumonia induced by novel coronavirus can be mainly manifested as follows: 1. Fever, dry cough and malaise are the main manifestations. Some patients may have sore throat, decreased or loss of smell and taste, nasal congestion, runny nose, conjunctivitis, myalgia and diarrhea as the main manifestations. 2. Most patients have a good prognosis, and a few patients are in critical condition, mostly seen in the elderly, people with chronic underlying diseases, late pregnancy and perinatal women, and obese people. 3. Light-type patients may show low fever, slight fatigue, smell and taste impairment, without pneumonia. In severe cases, respiratory distress and/or hypoxemia, acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock, uncorrectable metabolic acidosis, hemorrhagic coagulation dysfunction and multi-organ failure occur one week after the onset of the disease. 4. Symptoms of children’s cases are relatively mild, and some children and newborns may have atypical symptoms, such as vomiting, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal symptoms, or only poor response and shortness of breath. Asymptomatic patients infected with the new coronavirus generally do not show the above symptoms, or even notice any abnormality themselves, and such people can only be screened by nucleic acid test or antigen test.
