The empty space after a tooth is extracted can be restored with a fixed denture, partial denture, dental implant treatment, etc. However, there is no need for restoration after wisdom teeth extraction. 1. Fixed Denture Repair: If there are natural teeth at both ends of the missing teeth area, you can grind down the healthy teeth on both sides and fix them with braces. Then the middle part of the missing teeth will be connected to the braces on both sides to form a fixed bridge, also known as fixed denture. 2. Partial Denture Repair: After tooth extraction, there will be tooth loss, which will affect normal chewing of food, and long time vacancies will also cause the surrounding teeth to loosen. Patients can be advised by the doctor to install movable dentures according to their own conditions, to restore the chewing function, but also can be removed by themselves. 3. Dental implant treatment: after extracting the tooth, implant is inserted into the alveolar bone of the empty place, and after the implant is combined with the alveolar bone, artificial crown is restored on the basis of the implant. After the implant is bonded to the alveolar bone, an artificial crown will be placed on top of the implant to fill in the gap and reduce the looseness of the surrounding teeth. The choice of how to handle this is based on the doctor’s recommendation. Patients are advised to pay attention to oral hygiene, prevent infection and avoid eating too hard food during dental treatment.
