Strengthening the Spleen and Promoting Blood Granules has a good therapeutic effect on iron deficiency anemia with deficiency of qi and blood.
Poria, Codonopsis, Atractylodes macrocephala, Astragalus, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Chinese yam, tortoise shell, jujube, calcined oyster, keel bone, Schisandra chinensis, Ophiopogon, etc., which can nourish the blood and tranquilize the mind, invigorate the spleen and harmonize the stomach.
Spleen and Blood Granules can be used to treat yellowish color, tiredness and fatigue, irritable sweating, irregular bowel movement (stool abnormality), fullness of stomach and epigastrium, poor appetite caused by deficiency of qi and blood; it can also be used with occasional treatment of children’s spleen and stomach weakness combined with heart and spleen deficiencies resulting in iron-deficiency anemia.
Taking this drug may cause blackening of teeth, black stools, constipation, epigastric pain, diarrhea, nausea, loss of appetite, etc. It is contraindicated in patients with non-iron deficiency anemia (e.g., thalassemia).
