Slightly thickened appendix 7mm refers to the description of the morphology of the appendix during imaging examinations such as ultrasound or CT of the appendix. In the clinic, it is mainly seen in appendiceal lumen blockage, appendicitis, appendiceal tumor and so on, which need to further improve the examination in order to clarify the etiology. 1. Appendiceal lumen blockage: in clinic, it is mostly seen in the case of dietary carelessness, which leads to the blockage of the opening of the appendiceal lumen by fecal matter and foreign bodies, and then the secretion in the lumen increases, resulting in a slightly thicker appendix. In mild cases, the appendix is only slightly thick, and the patient may not feel any discomfort. 2. Appendicitis: when there is inflammation of appendix due to various reasons, the wall of appendix can be congested, edema and exudation, early ultrasound examination of appendix can be slightly thickened by 7mm, and the patients can have nausea, vomiting, pain in the upper abdomen and umbilicus, and the most typical manifestation is the metastatic right lower abdominal pain. 3. Appendix tumor: the more common ones are appendix carcinoid tumor and appendix adenocarcinoma, etc., which can be thickened by ultrasound, especially in the early stage of appendix.
