What’s wrong with bloating, belching, and being full when I eat a little?

You are bloated, full after eating a little, don’t want to eat, and belching all the time. You think you are sick, but repeatedly go to the doctor, who says there is nothing wrong, and check the gastroscopy, which also shows no problem. What is this because of?
In fact, these are all signs of indigestion, and the reason why repeated tests do not show any abnormalities is that this indigestion does not originate from some organic disease, which is medically referred to as functional indigestion. It may account for more than half of all indigestion people.
First, is indigestion also a disease
If you do not have ulcers or tumors, but just have indigestion such as bloating after eating, bloating after eating a little, stomach discomfort, nausea, belching, etc., and it lasts for at least 6 months, then it can be said to be functional indigestion.
Over the years, as the understanding of the disease has deepened, the pathogenesis of functional gastrointestinal disease has been gradually uncovered, and doctors feel that it is a disease that requires formal diagnosis and treatment.
To cite two common examples, some people start to feel bloated, nausea and other discomfort after eating very little, and usually have a good appetite, but now can not eat at all; some people will have epigastric pain or heartburn, but the pain is a burst, and not related to eating.
The above two situations represent two types of functional dyspepsia: postprandial fullness syndrome and epigastric pain syndrome.
Second, the specific pathogenesis of functional dyspepsia
The specific pathogenesis of functional dyspepsia is unknown, but the medical profession has been trying to explore some of the causes and pathogenesis.
At present, the more recognized causes include gastrointestinal power deficiency, H. pylori infection, genetic factors, diet and lifestyle habits, etc. In fact, the occurrence of functional dyspepsia is often the interaction of these factors interacting with each other.
For example, a person with insufficient gastrointestinal power, and H. pylori infection, the usual diet and unhealthy, but also in a state of anxiety and tension, then this person is likely to get functional dyspepsia.
Third, if it is this disease, how to cure in the end
Treatment of functional dyspepsia is a relatively long process. Even if the treatment period has improved, it is also very easy to repeat, so you must be ready to attack the battle, can not stop the drug once the symptoms improve.
  1, diet adjustment
The simplest and most effective treatment for most people is to adjust the diet and lifestyle.
What to eat? Rice, bread, yogurt, apples, etc. can help reduce the symptoms of indigestion, you can usually eat more; while stimulating, spicy food, carbonated drinks, alcohol, strong tea, etc. may aggravate indigestion, to eat less.
How to eat? In addition to what to eat, how to eat is also a matter of concern. Eating irregularly, eating too fast, etc., will aggravate the indigestion, so look at their own sickness, three meals a day, eat regularly, chew slowly and eat well.
Here again, we recommend another way to eat: eat a small amount of low-fat meals every day, divided into 6 times, that is, each time only a little, but can eat several times, and these foods are preferably non-greasy low-fat food.
  2.Medication
About taking medication, it is inconvenient to say too much here, because they are some prescription drugs, which can be taken under the guidance of a doctor to achieve the best results.
Proton pump inhibitors (PPI) class: including the most commonly used in gastroenterology, inhibiting excessive gastric acid secretion PPI class of drugs is the preferred treatment.
Prokinetic drugs: this class of treatment is also effective and is commonly used in China, including domperidone, itopride and mosapride
anti-anxiety drugs: in some patients psychiatric factors play a large role, and at such times doctors add anti-anxiety-depression drugs, although their application is controversial
Treatment of H. pylori: for patients identified as positive for H. pylori, eradication treatment of H. pylori can also be attempted if symptoms do not resolve after a period of regular treatment.
However, it should be reminded that eradication of H. pylori must be done by standardizing the application of the corresponding several drugs under the guidance of a doctor and by adhering to a full course of treatment. Otherwise, it is very likely to cause drug resistance of H. pylori, and it will be more difficult to cure again.
Although functional dyspepsia is not a major disease, but it can seriously affect the quality of life of patients. As long as we usually develop good eating and living habits, reduce our anxiety and tension, and combine it with appropriate medication when necessary, we can completely stay away from it.
