Is it necessary to save umbilical cord blood?

If financial conditions permit, it is still necessary to save umbilical cord blood. Cord blood is rich in stem cells, which can be used for life-saving treatment of hematological diseases, immunological diseases and certain genetic diseases such as leukemia, neuroblastoma and aplastic anemia through cell transplantation. The stem cells in umbilical cord blood are very viable and can differentiate into various cells in the body, which are important in tissue repair. However, the collection of cord blood has very strict requirements. The blood in the placenta and umbilical cord needs to be collected quickly after the fetus breaks the umbilical cord and sent to the cord blood bank for storage within 24 hours. Because cord blood needs to be stored in liquid nitrogen tanks at -196°C, storage requires a certain amount of cost, so cord blood storage needs to be done within the means.
