Toadstool is a traditional Chinese medicine with the effect of detoxifying and dispersing toxins, etc. The daily dosage for adults is limited, usually 3~6g is taken into the soup for decoction, or 1~3g into the pills for dispersal.
Toadflax is pungent in flavor, cool in nature, poisonous, and belongs to the heart, liver, spleen and lung meridians. It has the effects of reducing swelling and detoxification, relieving pain and diuretic.
Toadstool is mainly used in the treatment of edema, dysuria (unsmooth urination), carbuncle (which is a kind of poisonous sore, occurring on the surface of the body, limbs, internal organs of acute purulent disease), scrofula (mainly refers to the tuberculosis of cervical lymph nodes), and pediatric noma (a kind of children’s chronic disease, which is characterized by emaciation of the form, abnormal diet, abdominal distension, and sparse and withered hair, etc.) and other ailments.
The drug is often used in soups or pills for internal use, and the adverse effects of taking it are not clear, but the product is toxic and prohibited for pregnant women.
