Adults mostly swallow wire, bamboo skewers, fish spines or meat bones caught in the food because they eat too fast. In elderly people, the dental brackets are too loose and embedded in the esophagus when eating sticky glutinous rice products because they are stuck together and swallowed. Foreign bodies in the esophagus caused by intentional or unintentional swallowing of miscellaneous objects by psychiatric patients. So how to prevent esophageal foreign body? The main points of prevention of esophageal foreign body are as follows: 1. Chew and swallow slowly when eating, and should not be too hasty. The elderly who have lost more teeth or use denture trays should pay particular attention. Damaged dentures should be repaired in time to avoid loosening and falling off when eating and accidentally swallowed as foreign bodies. 2.Educate children to correct the bad habit of holding small playthings in the mouth to prevent inadvertent swallowing. 3.Patients with general anesthesia or coma should have their movable dentures removed. 4.After swallowing foreign body by mistake, do not swallow rice balls, steamed buns and other foods by yourself, so as not to aggravate the injury and increase the difficulty of surgery.
