Cerebral infarction requires lifelong medication because it has the potential to recur. Cerebral infarction is caused by the narrowing or occlusion of blood vessels in the skull, and thus patients with cerebral infarction need lifelong medication to prevent further narrowing or occlusion of blood vessels in the skull. Anti-platelet aggregation drugs, such as aspirin or clopidogrel, and plaque stabilizing drugs, such as atorvastatin or resulvastatin calcium tablets, are often required clinically. In addition to clarifying what caused the patient to develop cerebral infarction, the more common clinical factors are hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and hyperlipidemia. These risk factors are also chronic diseases and also require lifelong use of related medications. Therefore, patients with cerebral infarction must take medication for life.
