Does plantain cure cataracts?

Plantain is not generally used to treat cataracts. Psyllium is sweet in flavor, cold in nature, and belongs to the liver, kidney, lung, and small intestine meridians. It has the effects of clearing away heat, diuretic and diaphoretic (to improve the problem of dribbling in urine, and the problem of small amount of urine not being able to pass), expectorant, cooling the blood, and detoxicating. Plantain can be used to treat heat drenching (burning and stinging pain when urinating, with frequent urination and urgency, and discomfort in the abdomen), astringent pain, edema and urination, summer dampness and diarrhea (diarrhea caused by summer dampness), phlegm-heat coughing, vomiting and epistaxis, and carbuncle swelling and sores. From the efficacy and effects of plantain, it can be seen that plantain has no therapeutic effect on cataracts. The adverse reactions and precautions of Plantago ovata are not clear. The use of Plantain is prohibited for people with deficiency and slippery essence. If you need to use traditional Chinese medicine plantain, you should use the medicine under the guidance of physician’s diagnosis, and you can’t purchase and use the medicine by yourself to avoid delaying the condition.
