Can ovarian cysts affect pregnancy?

Whether ovarian cysts will affect pregnancy depends on the size of the cyst and accompanying symptoms, and cannot be generalized. If the ovarian cyst is less than 5cm in diameter, grows slowly, and has no uncomfortable symptoms, it is generally a physiological cyst that does not require special treatment and will not affect pregnancy. If the cyst is more than 5cm in diameter or growing faster, accompanied by symptoms such as lower abdominal swelling, pain, menstrual cycle disorder and non-menstrual vaginal bleeding, it is usually a pathological cyst caused by inflammation or endometriosis, which can interfere with ovulation, cause abdominal adhesions or decrease the function of the fallopian tubes, thus affecting pregnancy. In this case, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery or open cyst removal surgery should be performed as early as possible to avoid cyst tip torsion, rupture, infection and even infertility. If ovarian cysts are suspected, you need to go to a gynecologist for ultrasound and other examinations to understand the condition of the cysts, as well as to eat a light diet and avoid heavy physical labor.
