What’s wrong with cold knees?

Cold knees are mainly caused by poor blood circulation, arthritis, chondromalacia patella, and herniated lumbar discs.
1. Poor blood circulation: low outside temperature, arterial and venous thrombosis, weakening of the heart function, etc., so that the local blood flow of the knee is blocked, resulting in cold.
2. Arthritis: including osteoarthritis of the knee, rheumatism or rheumatoid arthritis, etc., because it affects the blood circulation on the surface of the knee, resulting in a cold sensation when touched.
3. Chondromalacia patella: refers to degenerative lesions of the patellar cartilage due to trauma, strain, etc., which manifests itself as cold, painful, swollen and uncomfortable walking on the knee.
4. Lumbar disc herniation: the herniated lumbar disc compresses the nerve roots and blood vessels, blocking the innervation of the legs, causing lumbar pain, cold knees, and limitation of activities.
In addition, iron deficiency, lack of exercise, etc. may also make the knee cold. Therefore, when the knees are cold, they can be improved by foot soaking, regular exercise and good warmth measures. When the above means cannot relieve the symptoms or when pain, redness and swelling occur, you should go to the hospital as soon as possible to find out the specific cause and have standardized treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
