Mountain climbing is good, but diabetics should be moderate

Recently, a patient with stroke and diabetes was treated in a specialist clinic. He was so afraid of having another stroke that he decided to hike for a long time every day to control his blood sugar and exercise his limbs. However, after a month of practice, the patient’s limb weakness not only did not improve, but he often had pain in both lower limbs. Why did this patient experience this phenomenon? I think it is due to vasculopathy in the lower extremities of diabetic patients. In the early stage of lower limb vasculopathy, there may be no obvious symptoms in both lower limbs. However, as the lesion develops, especially in some patients with poor glycemic control, symptoms such as itching of the skin of the lower extremities, coldness of the extremities, darkening of the skin tone, pigmentation spots, tingling and numbness of the lower extremities, and even muscle atrophy and gangrene and necrosis of the toe ends may occur in some patients. This outpatient has a history of diabetes mellitus for more than 8 years, the blood vessels of both lower limbs must exist atherosclerosis, long time mountaineering has aggravated the obstacle of blood circulation in the lower limbs, making the ischemia of both lower limbs significantly aggravated, thus the pain. So remind the majority of diabetic patients mountaineering although it is very beneficial to physical and mental health exercise, but should be stopped in moderation.
