What should I do if my neck is tilted to one side?

Crooked neck to one side is treated differently depending on the cause. Specific causes include congenital hyperlordosis, clavicle fracture, cervical spondylosis, and so on. The treatment methods include physical therapy, medication and surgery.
1. Congenital Acromegaly: Patients with congenital acromegaly will have asymmetry of both shoulders and crooked neck to one side. For those with less severe deformity, muscle pulling exercises can be performed to pull and stretch the shortened muscles by lifting the arm and abducting the arm, etc. to improve muscle and joint function and treat the crooked neck phenomenon. If the deformity is serious, it is recommended to perform scapular subscapularis fixation surgery at the age of 3~6 years old.
2. Clavicle fracture: after the fracture of the clavicle, the patient will have localized bleeding and edema of the clavicle, which will lead to asymmetry of the shoulder and tilting of the neck. If the fracture is not serious, traction can be performed, and if it is serious, surgical treatment such as fracture osteotomy is needed. During the recovery period, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen can be taken to reduce inflammation and analgesia. Physical therapy can also be used to speed up recovery and solve the problem of crooked neck.
3. Cervical spondylosis: In patients with cervical spondylosis, the nerve roots are compressed, causing neck pain, resulting in shoulder asymmetry and crooked neck. Patients can relieve pain through massage physiotherapy, but also under the guidance of the doctor to use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as sodium rosoprofen and other anti-inflammatory analgesic, to relieve symptoms.
The other diseases that cause the neck to be crooked to one side are congenital cervical strabismus and fallen pillow. It is recommended that patients with neck crooked to one side should go to the hospital for checkups and follow the doctor’s instructions to choose the appropriate treatment measures according to their symptoms.
