Early stage lung cancer can be completely cured through radical surgical resection and systematic lymph node dissection. The 5-year survival rate of early stage I and II lung cancer is about 60%-80% after surgical resection, and even long-term survival is entirely possible. Early stage lung cancer refers to lung mass ≤3cm, no hilar lymph node metastasis, no mediastinal lymph node metastasis, and no supraclavicular lymph node metastasis. For this kind of early stage lung cancer, it can be cured by surgical resection, and there is no need for adjuvant radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy or targeted therapy after surgery, etc. The key is to detect lung cancer at an early stage. The main tool for early detection of lung cancer is routine or regular low-dose CT scan of the lung, especially for middle-aged men with long-term smoking history.
