We have too many misconceptions about hypertension

Hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases, and is closely related to the main diseases of human mortality such as coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, etc. However, people often do not know enough about the disease, the following are common misconceptions about hypertension: 1, a little higher blood pressure is not relevant, no need to make a fuss. A large number of observational studies have confirmed that even a slightly higher blood pressure, the risk of cardiovascular disease will increase significantly, statistics show that every 9 mmHg reduction in systolic blood pressure and (or) diastolic blood pressure per 4 mmHg reduction, can reduce the risk of stroke by 36%. Therefore, for hypertension, do not take a careless attitude, must be taken seriously. 2, the increase in blood pressure in the elderly is a physiological phenomenon The increase in blood pressure in the elderly is not a physiological phenomenon, the diagnosis of hypertension in the elderly and young people the same criteria, that is, systolic blood pressure ≥ 140mmHg and (or) diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90mmHg, then can be diagnosed as hypertension. The guidelines for the prevention and treatment of hypertension state that the goal of hypertension in the elderly is the same as that of young people, which is systolic blood pressure.
