What’s wrong with a sore hamstring and how do you treat it?

Depending on the cause of the problem, you may need to choose the appropriate treatment for your foot pain. Tendon pain on the top of the foot may be caused by improper posture, tendon spasm, sprain, fasciitis and so on. If the pain is severe or cannot be relieved, go to the hospital for treatment.
1. Improper posture: prolonged standing, prolonged squatting, and prolonged force on the feet lead to elevated tension in the tendons and dorsalis pedis muscles, causing transient pain and discomfort. Usually after relief, the symptoms will gradually disappear. Massage or hot compresses can be used to relax the feet and avoid prolonged standing and squatting positions.
2. Tendon spasms: Frequent upward movement of the foot or sudden over-exertion can cause transient cramps or pain in the tendons of the dorsum of the foot, which can usually be relieved on their own.
3. Sprains: During intense exercise, the foot moves a lot, resulting in cramps and pain. If the symptoms are mild, cold compresses can be applied within 24 hours of the cramp, and hot compresses can be applied after 48 hours to relieve the symptoms. If the symptoms are more serious, it is recommended to go to the hospital for treatment in time.
4. Fasciitis: a variety of factors lead to inflammation of the dorsalis pedis fascia, often manifested as pain, muscle tension, muscle weakness, muscle spasms, skin numbness and so on. Non-steroidal analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs such as celecoxib or diclofenac sodium can be used for treatment. The medication needs to be prescribed by a doctor.
