Blood test for luteal function on the first day after menstruation

For women with normal menstrual periods, the luteal function is usually checked by blood test about 22 days after menstruation, which is about one week before the next menstrual period.
A woman’s corpus luteum develops as a result of follicular development, occurs after ovulation, and secretes mainly progesterone. For women with regular menstrual cycles, progesterone levels are relatively high on the 22nd day after menstruation, which is the most appropriate time to check luteal function. Checking the luteal function is of great significance in determining whether a fetus can be conceived normally.
When checking luteal function, women should keep an empty stomach and complete the measurement in the morning. In addition, women can also measure their basal body temperature for a month to help determine their luteal function.
If a woman finds that her luteal function is abnormal, she needs to seek medical advice from her doctor.
