Stroke, how to warn?

  Stroke warning, always be prepared
Stroke has an aura, which is clinically known as “transient ischemic attack”. Because it is a transient attack, if we detect and seek medical attention in time, it is likely to “nip the stroke in the bud” and reduce the risk of hemiplegia and even death.
In transient ischemic attack, the episodes of unilateral limb weakness or numbness, transient fainting, hemianesthesia, blurred vision and other discomforts, lasting 3-5 minutes or ten minutes, will be relieved on their own, which is commonly known as “mini-stroke”. Moreover, these symptoms can recur, and the symptoms of each attack are basically similar. This is seen as an early warning sign of a stroke, when the brain is already in an emergency. Therefore, the patient, family or friends should also be put into a “state of emergency” at the same time.
Unfortunately, most people don’t know much about this and think it’s just due to “heat, tiredness or lack of sleep”. Numbness in the hands, for example, can be one of the precursors of a stroke, but it is often overlooked or thought of as neuritis, cervical spondylosis, local nerve entrapment (elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome) and other diseases, while forgetting about the brain.
Allow yourself to keep an extra eye on
① Sudden numbness, weakness, crooked mouth, drooling on one side of the face or upper or lower limbs.
②Sudden difficulty in speaking, or not understanding others’ speech.
③Transient visual impairment, transient black haze.
④Sudden vertigo, inability to stand, or fainting, which improves after a few seconds to minutes.
(⑤) Unbearable headache, gradually worsening and persistent symptoms or nausea and vomiting.
The above symptoms usually last only about half an hour and then improve, so it is easy to be ignored. Anyone who has one of the above signs should seek early medical examination.
  ”Small strokes have no sequelae
Although “mini-stroke” does not cause sequelae, once it occurs, it is enough to indicate that the degree of cerebrovascular damage has reached the edge of danger, because transient ischemic attack is focal cerebral ischemia, resulting in the sudden appearance of transient, limited neurological deficits and related symptoms.
For people over 40 years old, if they often have symptoms such as headache, dizziness, light-headedness, numbness of the limbs, swelling of the tongue, etc., and usually have high blood pressure, high blood pressure, diabetes, cerebral arteriosclerosis and other diseases, they should pay more attention and stay on high alert, so to speak, “always be prepared” to avoid a complete stroke.
  Stroke, always on the move
According to epidemiological surveys, patients with transient ischemic attacks have a significantly higher probability of having a stroke than the general population, with an 8% probability of having a stroke within one month after an attack and a 12% probability of having a stroke within one year, which is 13-16 times higher than the general population; moreover, the more frequent the attack and the longer the duration, the higher the probability of having a stroke. Overall, for untreated patients, about 1/3 develop a stroke, 1/3 can have recurrent attacks, and 1/3 can resolve on their own.
Drink water simply to reduce strokes
In life, water shortage is an important trigger for the occurrence of stroke. The reason is very simple, lack of water, blood volume decreases, blood concentration (sticky) is easy to form a blood clot, and then a stroke occurs.
Studies have found that people are used to drink water only after they are thirsty; however, after middle age, the feeling of thirst becomes less and less pronounced with increasing age. The thirst center of the elderly is not responsive to water shortage, even in the obvious lack of water, the body “thirsty demand” is not strong, do not feel thirsty and do not take the initiative to drink water, the result of water shortage more and more obvious.
Therefore, middle-aged people should reinforce the concept of drinking water at any time, while the elderly and people at risk of stroke should develop the habit of “drinking the right amount of water even if they are not thirsty”. The easiest way to reduce the probability of stroke is to drink more than 1,000 ml of urine per day.
  Prevention of small life
1, the longer the hypertension, the more obvious the hardening of the blood vessels, very prone to stroke. Blood pressure should be tested frequently and controlled in the normal range as much as possible. Coronary heart disease, hyperlipidemia, diabetes can also induce a stroke. Therefore, it is important to prevent and control the primary disease.
2, to regulate the mood, maintain a relaxed, happy mood. You can listen to light music and talk to young people to distract yourself.
3, do not watch stressful, scary movies and TV. Do not get angry when things go wrong, and pay attention to the combination of work and rest.
4.When you go out in the morning on an empty stomach, you should eat some food first to prevent hypoglycemia and cerebral thrombosis.
5, the weather changes obviously, especially the sudden cold will make the blood vessel contraction, blood pressure rise, should add more clothes to keep warm.
6, quit smoking and alcohol, because smoking and alcohol further damage the heart function, increase blood viscosity and blood lipids, very easy to induce a stroke.
7, keep the stool smooth, should not be in the stool when excessive force, so as not to occur cerebral hemorrhage.
8, dietary regimen should be light, eat less and more meals, eat fresh vegetables and aquatic products. To consume enough food fiber and laxative food, forbid fatty meat and animal offal, do not eat irritating food; eat less refined sugar, honey, fruit sugar, pastries, etc.; limit the amount of salt to 4 grams per day.
9, physical exercise can choose to play taijiquan, walking, qigong and other projects; do not lie in bed all day, lying in bed for a long time will also slow down the blood flow and produce ischemic stroke.
