Ancestral recipes for neurological headaches are mostly unscientific and generally unreliable. Current treatments include medication and non-pharmacological treatments.
1. Non-pharmacological treatment: Patients need to understand the causes and possible triggers of headaches. EMG biofeedback combined with relaxation training and acupuncture may be effective in relieving headaches.
2. Pharmacologic treatment: This includes medication during acute attacks and prophylactic medication.
(1) Pharmacological treatment during acute attacks: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as acetaminophen and aspirin, are mostly used.
(2) Prophylactic medication: the most important prophylactic medication is tricyclic antidepressants, amitriptyline is the first-line choice. It is mostly used in patients with chronic neurologic headache.
If neurological headache occurs, it should be promptly admitted to the hospital, under the guidance of the doctor for treatment, the above drugs need to be used as prescribed by the doctor.
