How long does it take for the venous mass to disappear after spermatorrhaphy

After varicocele surgery, the vein masses formed in the scrotum gradually disappear within about 1-3 months after the surgery. In the case of varicocele, surgical treatment requires ligation of the internal spermatic veins at a relatively high level. In this case, the presence of tortuous vessels in the scrotum requires collateral circulation, either through the external spermatic vein, to reduce the local venous tortuous formation of venous masses. After surgery, physical activity should be reduced and activities that use abdominal pressure for a long time should be avoided. If the vein masses in the scrotum do not disappear completely more than 3 months after surgery, the surgical ligation may not be complete. This may be due to the fact that the venous branch was not ligated at a high level during the surgery and therefore the tortuous mass will not disappear and will need to be treated by a second surgery.
