Can CT show liver fibrosis or cirrhosis?

CT can usually detect cirrhosis, but is not very definitive in the diagnosis of liver fibrosis. The morphology of the liver will change after the formation of cirrhosis, the liver shrinks, the left-right ratio is imbalanced, the surface of the liver shows wavy changes, due to the formation of pseudo lobar formation and regenerative nodules, which can cause diffuse fibrosis and sclerosis changes in the liver, which in turn affects the vascularity of the liver and the morphology changes, all of which can be observed by CT examination of abdomen, which is conducive to the definitive diagnosis of liver cirrhosis. However, the diagnosis of liver fibrosis by CT examination is not clear, and the degree of liver fibrosis can be analyzed comprehensively through the results of liver transient elasticity measurement or liver puncture biopsy. If the patient is diagnosed with liver fibrosis or cirrhosis, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital in time, to clarify the cause of the disease, and then carry out targeted treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
