Traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and typing of keloid scarring is generally categorized into the syndrome of stasis and toxicity accumulation and the syndrome of deficiency and stasis.
1. Stasis and Toxicity Concentration syndrome:
Clinical manifestations: scarring at the beginning or for a short period of time, bright red or purple-red color, hard texture, itching and pain, dry mouth and stools, short stools, red petechiae, thin yellow moss, and stringy pulse.
2. The syndrome of deficiency and stasis:
Clinical manifestations: scarring that does not subside for a long time, pale red or dark red color, tough and solid texture, like rubber, no itching or pain, weakness and limb fatigue, low voice and laziness, no color in the face, pale texture, thin moss and white, and a fine, astringent pulse.
There may also be other TCM symptoms of scarring, so if you feel unwell, please consult a doctor for evidence-based treatment to avoid delays or adverse effects.
