Trichomoniasis is contagious to husband because it is transmitted firstly through sexual contact and secondly through contaminated clothing and utensils of the patient. Once trichomoniasis is diagnosed, effective treatment should be given in a timely manner. Metronidazole tablets 2g can be given as a dose or metronidazole suppositories can be given vaginally once a day for 7-10 days and reviewed 3-5 days after stopping the medication. Generally, it is recommended to treat trichomoniasis for two consecutive courses of treatment and two consecutive negative tests before it is considered completely cured, as trichomoniasis has a high chance of recurrence and therefore requires continuous treatment.
