What are the signs of rectal cancer recurrence

Manifestations of rectal cancer recurrence include clinical symptoms, abnormalities in imaging and laboratory tests, including abdominal distension, change in bowel habit, liver mass found by abdominal CT, elevated tumor markers, etc. 1. Clinical recurrence manifestations, including local recurrence manifestations as well as distant recurrence manifestations. Local recurrence manifestations, such as abdominal pain, local distension, change of bowel habit and character, blood in stool, etc. Distant recurrence manifestations, such as liver metastasis manifestations may be liver distension, liver discomfort, loss of appetite, lung recurrence patients may appear cough, cough sputum or dyspnea. 2. Imaging recurrence manifestations, whole-body CT can find patients with localized masses in rectum, liver or lungs, and intensified CT and MRI will show the manifestation of mass intensification in arterial phase. 3. Laboratory tests for recurrence, mainly the tumor markers of rectal cancer such as glycoantigen 19-9 and carcinoembryonic antigen are obviously elevated.
