What is the urine routine white blood cell index

The indicator of white blood cells in urine routine is under 5 per high magnification field of view. Normally, a small number of leukocytes can also be found in the urine, but the amount is relatively small and is mainly observed by applying a microscope at less than 5 per high-powered field of view. If it exceeds 5, it is abnormal and is called leukocyturia. Elevated white blood cells in urine are most commonly seen in urinary tract infections, such as acute cystitis and acute pyelonephritis, where patients have white blood cells in urine in addition to symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, painful urination, back pain and fever. If only the first three symptoms are present, consider it to be acute cystitis. If the last two symptoms are present, consider acute pyelonephritis. Urinary tract infections need to be treated with antibiotics against infection, and at the same time, attention should be paid to drinking more water and urinating more often. After anti-infection treatment, the majority of patients can be cured.
