Difference between acute and chronic uremia

The difference between acute uremia and chronic uremia: first, the etiology is not the same, acute uremia often has a clear cause, there are common pre-renal, renal and post-renal factors, pre-renal factors are often suggested that the renal perfusion is insufficient, renal factors are most often acute tubular necrosis, and post-renal factors are often seen in the urinary system obstruction. As for patients with chronic uremia, the most common cause is primary glomerulonephritis, followed by diabetic nephropathy and hypertensive nephropathy. Secondly, the difference between acute uremia and chronic uremia lies in the fact that after active treatment of acute uremia, the blood creatinine can be significantly reduced, or even completely returned to normal, while for patients with chronic uremia, there is no way that the creatinine can be significantly reduced. Third, treatment, acute uremia patients, often according to the cause of symptomatic treatment, if necessary, can be performed renal replacement therapy, but hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis are temporary, but for chronic uremia patients, hemodialysis or chronic or peritoneal dialysis may need to be maintained for life.
